I am Usha. I am a philosophy instructor at NYU. I work in ancient philosophy and ethics.

I received my PhD in philosophy from Columbia University. Before Philosophy, I studied English Literature and Chemical Engineering.

I think, moral agency, our ability to act and respond as ethical beings, is enhanced and also constrained by our imagination and emotional capacities; Understanding these constraints has consequences for what we ought to hold each other accountable for. You will find more information about my research here.

Besides philosophy, I enjoy singing, attempting Indian cooking, and taking long walks with my doe-headed, horse-souled dog, Bernie.
